EMBARC was engaged by The USS Saint Paul Association to design a commemorative memorial to be installed at the Minnesota Military & Veterans Museum museum's new 32-acre campus in Little Falls, Minnesota. Located near the entrance in a landscaped gathering space, the memorial is titled "Folding Planes" — a sculptural installation designed as a visual reference to the museum and inspired by the steel plating of USS Saint Paul.

The engraved steel planes will tell the ship's history while evoking the experience of sea travel, allowing visitors to walk through the installation and feel immersed in the ship. A silhouette of the USS Saint Paul will be integrated into the artwork, while the ship's restored anchor will serve as the centerpiece, creating a welcoming and contemplative place to honor the ship and those who served aboard.
